Vet Tech Students Busy In and Out of Classroom

Vet Tech students at Globe University have not only been busy inside classrooms but outside as well. Various vet tech courses have been hosting nail trimming clinics for the public. With these clinics, students have been working with Your Pet Stop hosting free clinics to the public as part of their service learning initiative.

Your Pet Stop is a locally owned pet store which provides quality products for their customers. Your Pet Stop recently opened their second location in Sioux Falls. With the addition of another location are Vet Students have been planning and hosting clinics once a month at both locations. The students are enrolled in a variety of courses and gaining hands on experience working with animals and clients. The next free clinic will be September 22 from 1pm-3pm.

Students have not only been busy working with the public, they have also been busy inside the classroom. They have been working with various rescues in the area to enhance their animal skills, such as blood drawing, preparing for surgery, nail trimming and restraints. It is safe to say that animals in Sioux Falls are becoming much better groomed.

This public interaction of students through Your Pet Stop hosting free clinics creates better awareness about the importance of pet care, because new pet owners may not have any clue on few diseases to which their pets prone to due to the careless mistakes in daily care. Hence, this free clinics session is not only good for the pets but it’s helped pet owners too to take good care of their pets.
