A Special Thank You to Our Veterans – Recognizing our Heroes

us flag

Veterans from the VFW Post 2778 raise the flag at Globe University in Appleton.

It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.

It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

Charles Michael Province, U.S. Army

Globe University is proud to be a top military-friendly school and is also recognized in Wisconsin as a Yellow-Ribbon school. As a top military-friendly college, we appreciate the sacrifices of military personnel, veterans, spouses and dependents of service members.

Veterans Day is Sunday, November 11. We’re celebrating the memory of those who have served, and honoring those who serve us now by placing pictures of our loved ones on a Remembrance Wall in the commons. If you’re in the area, feel free to stop by and view the board. You can also email a picture to be included on our wall – just email Kristin at kcates@globeuniversity.edu.

The Yellow Ribbon program is designed to help students avoid up to 100 percent of their out-of-pocket tuition and fees associated with education programs that may exceed the Post 9/11 GI Bill tuition benefit. For more information, contact a member of the Globe University team at (920) 364-1100.
