Students, faculty, and staff at the Minnesota School of Business – Plymouth campus participated in a food drive this December, but it wasn’t all for the recipients you’d think. The campus collected a wide variety of food for both people and pets. Donations were accepted for canned and non-perishable holiday food for Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners (IOCP). Cat and dog food was also collected and donated to People and Pets Together.
Located right across the street from campus, IOCP provides a perfect opportunity to help a neighbor in need. They accept food shelf donations year round, but during the holiday season, IOCP collects holiday-specific items such as boxed mashed potatoes, cake and cookie mix, flour, and canned foods. IOCP is a valued resource in the city of Plymouth as they help move families towards stability and positive change by offering a variety of services and resources. IOCP always has volunteering opportunities available for anyone interested.
People and Pets Together is a non-profit organization that accepts pet food donations and dispenses the collections to distribution centers around the metro area. They also offer quarterly vaccination clinics and post resources online for reduced veterinary care. By providing these services, they are helping people and their pets stay together. Information on volunteering and donation sites can be found on their website.
The Plymouth campus is always willing to help donate resources to great causes and is excited to have had the chance to work with these two great organizations this year. Happy Holidays!
