Staff at MSB-Rochester Helps Those in Need this Holiday Season

Salvation Army Red Kettle bell ringingMinnesota School of Business Rochester takes the We Care mission very seriously, and it was evident this holiday season. The staff continued its annual tradition of ringing the bells at the Salvation Army red kettles in an effort to help raise money for those in need this holiday season.

Some even returned for additional shifts, and there was no shortage of enthusiasm. Staff members sang for shoppers and Financial Aid Manager Chris Cook dressed up as Santa.  He did such a great job, many shoppers returned with their kids just to see him. The highlight of their bell ringing excursion was an anonymous $500 donation.

Each holiday season the MSB – Rochester staff also holds a jeans week to raise money for a different charity. This year, they selected Toys for Tots. For $5,
the staff members were allowed to wear jeans to work.

They raised $100. But instead of using that money to buy toys themselves, they presented a check to Toys for Tots so the money roch bell ringing3could be used where it was needed most.

“It makes our own holidays brighter, knowing we have helped others in our own community,” says Admissions Representative Laura Thomas. “We plan to continue this tradition again next year.”
