Find a Tutor

A Blog by Stacey Lilla, Online Learning Coordinator, Globe University-Wausau

Have you ever struggled through a class and felt like you had no one to ask for help? Were you ever working on homework into the early morning hours and wished there was someone available to answer your questions? There is no need to struggle. Globe University offers tutoring services to all students, at no additional cost.

There are different options you can choose from when deciding on tutoring services including a one-on-one tutor, group tutoring, or an online tutoring system which is available 24/7.

If you are in need of a tutor, first speak with your instructor as the instructor knows the information best. If you would like a one-on-one tutor, Stacey Lilla in the Education Department can set you up. Tutors can be set up to meet on a regular basis or as needed. Group tutoring is also an option for you if you feel you learn better in a group setting.Smarthinking

For those students who live farther away from school or work on homework after business hours, Globe University has an online resource called Smarthinking. It is available 24/7 for all students who need help in math, writing and grammar, micro and macroeconomics, and accounting. There are many different options available through Smarthinking, including submitting writing to be reviewed or being connected with an e-structor. If you are unsure how to use Smarthinking, our full-time English instructor Lynda Pilot would be more than happy to assist you. The HelpDesk can always be contacted as well at 612-436-7500 or email them at servicedesk@globeuniversity.edu.

TutoringAnother great resource Globe University-Wausau has to offer is the Academic Skills Center. It is a great place for you to visit if you are in need of writing or math assistance. You can pop in and out, spend five minutes or a few hours getting the help you need.
So, if you find yourself struggling and think you have nowhere to turn to, think again! Use your resources by talking to your instructors, Stacey in the Education Department, Lynda our full-time English instructor, or visiting the Academic Skills Center!
