On Saturday, October 24th, 2015 Globe University-Moorhead participated in an exciting event at the Red River Zoo, for the zoo’s annual “Boo at the Zoo!”
This year’s event was truly spooktacular, with over 4,500 people coming out for a day of fall fun. Guests enjoyed creepy critter close ups, pumpkin decorating, cockroach racing, keeper chats, fall photos, and of course trick-or-treating throughout the zoo. Boo at the Zoo is a wonderful community event that many families look forward to each year.
Sally Jacobson, the Zoo’s Business Manager, mentioned, “This year’s event was made even more fantastic because of our partners, like Globe University. We have had enormously positive feedback from our members and zoo visitors about the quality of our candy station sponsors. By providing a candy station, offering fun family activities and educating guests about the work you do, Globe University helped make this year’s event truly special. Thank you.”
Globe students, faculty and staff took part in this wonderful community event by hosting several yard games, including a bean bag toss game into a trick-or-treat bucket and “creepy” ladder golf. In addition to the games, our Globe team handed out Dum Dum suckers to all of the zoo’s guests, ghouls and goblins! It was a fantastic time!
“The Red River Zoo is not merely an area attraction, we are a living museum that educates guests about the wonders of wildlife while they visit. Globe University has partnered with the zoo in the past through collaborations with our veterinary department and hosting a booth at ‘Party for the Planet,’” Jacobson said. “It’s been a pleasure working with Globe. We look forward to future collaborations that will continue to enrich our community.”
