Thanksgiving Dinner at Globe University-Moorhead

Globe Students and their Families Enjoying Thanksgiving Dinner

On Tuesday, November 24th, 2015, the Globe University – Moorhead campus held its annual Thanksgiving dinner for students and their families. After all was said and done, we had over a hundred guests, primarily family members of our staff and students at the three hour event.

Giving thanks and appreciating our students and their families has become a strong tenet at Globe University – Moorhead. This Thanksgiving dinner was our third year doing this event and it was the best one yet.

“Our 3rd Annual Turkey Dinner, was a huge success” said Yvonne Rudrud, Director of First Impressions and a seven- year Globe University employee. Brian Boeshans and Sarah Dunkel, GU Employees Carving the Turkeys

Throughout the day, we served over 110 meals, the most we have served in the past three years.  The Globe staff also cooked five turkeys, three hams, 25 pounds of mashed potatoes, gravy, mountains of corn, buns and of course, piles of pies.  Almost all the food was gone after all was said and done.

Classes came down during their breaks to eat, socialize and connect.  Many students and staff brought their families or significant others to enjoy in the Globe-Turkey Day festivities and camaraderie.

“I was able to bring my parents, friends, aunt, and all three of my sons and their families.  They came prepared to give a donation and I told them that, NOPE, it’s all free” said Rudrud.  “We laughed and had a great time, my granddaughter even found a friend in one of the co-workers daughters.”

“I am grateful to our team for the prep work they put in throughout the day. It was so worthwhile seeing the smiles and laughter on everyone’s faces,” said Rudrud.  “We even had on student bring her homeless father to the meal, which melted my heart.”
