From Student to Graduate: Globe University-Eau Claire Celebrates 28 Milestones

There are many rewarding and uplifting milestones throughout a student’s collegiate journey.   Each is celebrated in its own way, and represents individual success and one step closer to completion.  All of these milestones throughout a student’s education culminate with the most celebrated accomplishment of all: graduation.  On Oct. 3, the Summer 2013 graduates of Globe University-Eau Claire learned just how rewarding this feeling can be.  With the support of their instructors, family and friends, this ceremony could not have been more complete.

Campus Director Wes Escondo addressed the students at the start of the ceremony. “Today serves as a hallmark, a celebration of what our graduates have accomplished in their educational careers,” he said. “For the staff and faculty of Globe University, today’s commencement serves as evidence of the faith, confidence and utmost pride you graduates have instilled in us throughout your academic journey…it was your relentless pursuit to be better than you were yesterday that allows you to be amongst a limited group of people who bear the title of ‘graduate.’”

Wes’s words of congratulations were followed by Globe University business management graduate Dawn Nesvacil, who after four years of working full time and attending school, graduated with her bachelor’s degree.  Dawn’s message to the attendees was one of motivation, hard work, and success.  Dawn hoped that her children were motivated by her commitment to school and that she inspired them to “never give up on their dreams.”

Keynote speaker and Admissions Representative Susie Draeger reminded students that even though they were graduating, their journey was far from over; in fact, it was just beginning.  She offered support to the graduates and reinforced Globe University’s commitment to their success, especially after graduation.  Susie was not only the keynote speaker, but also participated in the ceremony as a fellow graduate receiving her master’s degree in business administration.

Following Dawn and Susie’s encouraging words, it was finally time for students to walk across the stage and receive their degrees.  Once on stage, each one was greeted by Angela Ruppe, dean of education, as well as the chair of their program.  One by one, the 23 students who participated in the ceremony walked proudly in front of the crowd, as applause, camera flashes, and smiles filled the room.  They approached the stage a student and stepped down a graduate.   Each graduate knew that the degree was now their own, something they could carry with them the rest of their life.

Great job. And congratulations again Summer 2013 graduates.”
