Exercise is Medicine at Globe University Woodbury Campus

Personal Trainer EducationGlobe University/Minnesota School of Business has both online and residential Health Fitness Specialist (HFS) classes for personal trainer education. The HFS students at the Woodbury campus are hosting an Exercise is Medicine month as part of their Worksite Health Promotion class. Students in this class learned that a healthy workforce is a more productive workforce. With that in mind, they have created the following activities:1. Weekly activity logs will be available in the commons for students and employees who would like to participate.2. Exercise classes will be available throughout the week to educate and inspire.3. Finally, exercise assessments will be provided free of charge to students and staff. Details regarding each component are listed below.

Weekly Activity Log

The weekly activity log is a record of all the exercise related tasks that you have completed during the week that help you to maintain a healthy lifestyle. At the end of each week, submit your log on Monday or Tuesday of the following week in a drop box in the gym, room 218. Participants will have a chance to win a free health assessment.
Earn points for each activity you participate in! Kick off day starts May 15, 2012, pick up your very own activity log located in the commons area!
Physical Assessment
Fill out a weekly activity log to qualify to receive a free assessment. An assessment is a great way to provide bases for developing goals and an effective exercise program.
The assessment will include formative assessments such as, body measuring tests, exertion, endurance and strength tests. The formative assessment will allow the Health Fitness Specialist faculty and students to form summative assessments to give you goals and program bases.
