Stephanie Rud is the medical assistant program chair at the Globe University’s Woodbury Campus. She is a certified nursing assistant and holds an associate degree in medical assistant from Kaplan University. She graduated from college with a perfect attendance record and her name on the Dean’s list each quarter. She says she chose the field because of the rewarding experiences, wide range of employment options and schedule it provides.
Throughout her career, she has worked in nursing homes and a number of medical settings. Her first job was right from her externship at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in the Laboratory Department, where she also worked in the Cytology Department. From there, she moved back to Wisconsin and accepted a positon at the Baldwin Area Medical Center. Her experience there included pediatrics, family medicine and OBGYN.
She says her current role as the MA Program Chair is another example of how hard work can and will pay off in the end.
