Thomas Hakko is the program chair for the accounting and business programs at Globe University – Woodbury. Thomas began working with Globe in 2011 and was promoted to the program chair position in 2014.
Thomas has been teaching business classes since obtaining his master’s degree in business administration from Cardinal Stritch University in 2000. He worked as an adjunct instructor for several years and became full time instructor in 2006. Prior to teaching, Thomas spent 30 years working in management and upper management for companies such as Goodyear Tire and Rubber, University of Phoenix and Risk Management Services. He has managed groups as small as three and as large as 2,200. He has been employed in three different industries and brings a wealth of business and accounting skills and knowledge to the classroom.
Thomas has conducted numerous training workshops and public speaking events on topics ranging from Recruitment and Retention to Interview techniques for returning Minnesota servicemen. He estimates he has conducted training events in nine different states to countless students. Being the guest speaker at a college graduation is one of Thomas’ favorite speaking engagements.
Thomas earned his degrees at night school while working full time. In addition to his MBA, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources from Cardinal Stritch University. Thomas also has Certificates in Human Resources Management and Sales and Sales Management from Cardinal Stritch University.
Thomas enjoys the interaction and the challenges of teaching. The students are a source of constant delight to him. He lives in Oakdale, Minnesota.
