A Scholarship is Something to Smile About

Meet the Students Who Were Awarded the Community Service Scholarship for Early Fall

Kristin Thyroin, Director of Financial Aid awarded two Globe Green Bay students with the Community Service Scholarship this past week. Sasha Wilson and Sarah Schefe were the selected as recipients for the scholarship for the Early Fall 2012 quarter.

Sasha Wilson is a veterinary technology student and says, “Because of Globe I have been able to be more involved in the community”. Sasha is very thankful for her experiences of volunteering through opportunities inside and outside of the classroom.  Sasha’s volunteer work includes the Packer 5K, the Back to School Store, ringing bells for the Salvation Army and playing piano at her local church.

Sarah Schefe is a medical assistant student who has been involved with volunteering with a youth baseball league for over twenty years called Squeekers. The league provides games focused for children and also for adults and is run by volunteers and parents.

Globe University Green Bay has two available Community Service Scholarships to award each quarter for $2,000 each. Students must meet criteria for the award such as having a 3.5 GPA and having performed community service within the past three months. To learn more about this scholarship, read about it.
