Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood…

…which is exactly why Christina Romatowski, our Service Learning Coordinator, took it upon herself to organize a blood drive on campus this week.   Despite the number of employees and students affected by the flu lately, we were still able to collect 22 pints of blood!

The American Red Cross supplies approximately 40 percent of the nation’s blood supply for patients in nearly 3,000 hospitals across the U.S.  According to most recent statistics, the average red blood cell transfusion is appxromiately 3 pints.

Thank you to those who volunteered and/or donated blood to help make this event a success!
