In a little less than three years, Nicole Virant has managed to earn this title not once, but twice. Congratulations Nicole Virant on being Globe University-Green Bay’s February 2013 Rock Star–again!
There is not a month that goes by in which a student or staff member does not recognize Nicole for her consistency in going above and beyond what is expected of her in the classroom, in the office, and/or in the community. Juggling multiple hats as our Community Manager and Business Program Chair is no small task, yet Nicole makes it appear effortless.
Nicole understands her hard work on a daily basis allows our awareness in the community to grow tenfold. With that increased awareness brings new experiences for our students in the classroom through additional guest speakers, field trips, and new volunteer opportunities.
In addition to teaching, Nicole is an active member of the downtown Rotary club in which she recently joined a taskforce to help improve their social media sites. She also has presented in the community on various marketing topics and has volunteered her time at the downtown library to teach community members Microsoft Excel. It is amazing how she seems to utilize all 24 hours in a day and still appears to have fun and exert energy at all times.
To extend upon all of this, here are just a few statements from students and co-workers that showcase just how much Nicole has earned Rock Star status:
“Nicole goes above and beyond to make Globe University-Green Bay known in the community. She goes well above her job description of social media and community engagement. She is consistently thinking of ways that she can help every department on campus. Nicole is extremely valuable to this campus!” –Staff member
“I appreciate Nicole’s use of outside knowledge and connections to improve the classroom environment.” –Student
“Nicole shows up for every four-hour class period fired up to teach us. She brings in guest speakers, using her own time to keep class interesting, and recently helped me get in contact with a corporation [for a job opportunity]!”–David Bochte, business student
