Putt for Peshtigo Fire Victims epitomizes “We Care” mission

Thank you to all who participated in the numerous activities put on by Globe University-Green Bay for the fire victims from Peshtigo.  Together we were able to raise over $100 and countless items were donated to this family.  Under the direction and leadership of one of our own faculty members, Lori Kleinschmidt, this epitomized our mission: “We Care”.

Numerous faculty, staff and students assisted with the organization of this project to make it a success.  Pictured on our “Putt for a Cause” ‘course’ is Paralegal Program Chair, Laura Nelson.  Assisting with the bake sale, for which items were donated by faculty,  staff and students are (instructor) Joany Shepard and (student) Sara Monnette.

Annie Owens, a recent graduate from GU-GB, alerted us of this family in need due to her relationship with them.  Following our successful efforts to assist this family, we received a very touching email from Annie, in which she stated: “I want to thank each and every person on the Globe Campus who helped out or donated to the drive for the fire victims in Peshtigo.  I have a personal experience in a fire.  When I was seventeen, our home had a fire…we lost a lot in that fire.  The thing that got us through it was the kindness of others…and now you have sent those gifts of encouragement to the family in Peshtigo, which is amazing!  You all should be very proud of this, because you have no idea how much it means to them…and honestly, to me. ”

Annie ended her email echoing my thoughts about our mission by saying:  “I am thankful to everyone here at Globe who helped out.  These may be little things to you and me, but are huge things to the family who lost everything.  Globe’s motto is ‘Globe Cares’, which I can personally tell you is true.  I personally think that Globe Green Bay exemplifies this motto and it’s such an honor to be a student at this campus!”
