Volunteer Night brings the Community to campus

Admissions and our Service Learning Coordinator organized a “Volunteer Night” on Campus and attendance exceeded 30 students and community members.  The purpose of this event was to showcase why Globe stands out from other post-secondary schools with our Service Learning component.

Volunteers were from area organizations with whom our students have worked and they were on hand to pass out information and answer questions.  We had a total of 8 service learning partners attend.  Students were able to see past projects and how service learning can benefit them with regard to hands on learning.

We have continued to spread the message that networking is so important for our students, and these volunteers echoed that message.  Volunteer work is such a great way to give back to the community, but students learned the many additional benefits to volunteer work, such as building their resume with this amazing event!
