July 9th is for some becoming known as “Internet Doomsday”. Six months ago 6 Estonian nationals were arrested and charged with hijacking millions of computers around the world by using malware and rogue DNS servers. In response to the mass impact on U.S. computers the FBI created a safety net that would protect computer users from being infected. This safety net however is set to be removed July 9th.
So you may ask “What can I do?” Check your computer for the virus!!! you can do this by visiting FBI’s website DNS-OK to see if your computer has been infected. If you are in the “red” or even if you are in the “green” take the precaution to visit dcwg.org which will tell you what to do if your computer is in danger. Better safe than sorry!
