During the month of May and June, the Writing Across the Curriculum Program held a haiku contest that challenged students, staff, and faculty to create a 3-line poem following the 5/7/5 syllable count.
From the 14 haikus entered, two were voted as the top picks from the La Crosse campus:
Earning his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, Bob Matthew’s mullet-inspired poem won audiences over with humor, and currently the Student Services and On-line Learning Coordinator at the La Crosse campus, Ree Nae Roberge-Greene’s haiku also shined.
Both writers received a $15 dollar gift certificate to Barnes and Noble to continue their love for the written word.
Congrats, Bob and Ree Nae!
