Globe University- La Crosse recently hired a new admissions representative, Leslie Carlson. After two weeks of training at the Woodbury campus, and two more at the La Crosse campus, Leslie started working full-time at the La Crosse campus in February.
Please help us welcome Leslie to our campus!
She agreed to let us write a blog about her so prospective and current students can get to know her a little better.
Leslie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and majored in psychology. At her last job, Leslie worked in a work program for income-restricted participants, providing the participants with basic necessities and helping participants with their finances. Leslie’s passion to help others inspired her to take on the role of Admissions Representative for GU-La Crosse.
“I felt this was an amazing opportunity that I could not pass up to work in higher education,” Leslie stated. “I look forward to helping students continue their education experience and pursuing their career goals. It’s very uplifting to meet with a student for the first time and see their faces full of excitement because they want to go back to school.”
“Leslie is an excellent addition to our admissions team here in La Crosse. She has a passion for helping others and is motivated to help our students achieve their career goals and assist in campus growth,” Director of Admissions at GU-La Crosse, Rachel Krueger said.
When asked if she had any advice for students, Leslie answered, “College is very tough and it’s easier to give up than to finish, but just hang in there and finish. You will look back in a couple years from now and say, ‘I did it, I completed schooling and I am happy that I didn’t give up.’”
In her free time, Leslie likes to work out, go fishing, hiking, camping, rollerblading and “anything else fun with my fiancé,” she added.
Leslie has two cats that she adores, Chloe and Dax.
