On Wednesday, April 25th Globe University – Madison East joined other career colleges across Wisconsin at the WCIE (Wisconsin Council of Independent Education) Hill Day.
Madison East students Sarah Oliver and Katelyn Neumeier attended Hill Day with Campus Director Rocky Klitzke and Communications and Community Relations Specialist/Career Services Coordinator Julie Christensen. They spent the morning learning about current bills affecting schools like Globe University from speakers such as Representative Steven Nass and Senator Luther Olsen.
After the presentations, all attendees headed over to the capitol for scheduled meetings with various legislators or legislative aides. Joining the Madison East group on three out of the four legislative visits was student Scott Miller from the Madison West campus. The group met with Representative Janis Ringhand, and legislative aides working for Representative Keith Ripp, Senator Jon Erpenbach, and Senator Mark Miller.
During these meetings the group shared information about Globe University and the students discussed their background and why Globe was the right educational fit for them and invited the legislators to visit the campus for a tour and to meet with their constituents. Globe University – Madison East looks forward to strengthening relationships these and others legislators to benefit both the students and community.
