On a beautiful Friday afternoon, nine resilient and eager volunteers set off to Indian Lake County Park to participate in the United Way of Dane County’s annual Day of Caring.
Globe students, staff, instructors and family were put to work. One group collected various seeds which are used to develop additional prairies while others hiked up park to clear away various brush and invasive plants.
Volunteers enjoyed the day. “It was nice to be one with nature and having the ability to restore nature’s true beauty that has been damaged by invasive plant life.” Administrative Assistant, Amanda Hatzinger stated.
Student, Scott Miller added, “It was a rewarding teamwork experience working together in the great outdoors.”
