Bright and early on a Thursday morning, students, instructors and staff set off to show Middleton Businesses the best that Globe has to offer. For some, it became an event worth attending.
Information Technology Student, Dan Ballweg scored a lunch meeting with Bob Vanden Burgt from Yahara Software. While chatting, Dan mentioned that he is studying Information Technology at Globe and discovered that Mr. Vanden Burgt was looking for a part-time software developer. “It was pretty awesome,” Dan explained. “It was exciting to be able to chat with a guy who works high up at a software development company and end up setting up a lunch meeting with him.”
Globe University-Madison West sponsored the September Get Moving Middleton Breakfast at the Hilton Garden Inn. This involved a 5 minute presentation on Globe University. Campus Director, Brock Vander Velden spoke briefly to thank the Chamber for their support followed by a colorful power point presentation showcasing the voices of Globe University.
Ben Riser, Information Technology student enjoyed the event as well, stating, “Get Moving Middleton was a truly eye opening experience for me, especially as a student. The amount of opportunities for networking and getting to know more about the “pulse” of Middleton was very impressive. I am planning to attend the monthly meetings from here on out.”
When speaking on the success of the event, Brock beamed, “It was a successful breakfast and the representation by students, faculty and staff was amazing. Just hearing comments from chamber members there and how they really liked the video made it all worthwhile.”
