The Madison West campus is excited to announce our newest addition to the Globe Staff, Katie Waite. Katie is our new Medical Assistant Program Chair.
Before coming to Globe, Katie served as a Certified Medical Assistant at Group Health Cooperative. She provided patient care at GHC for over 10 years. She discovered her passion for Medical Assisting while she serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant. “I loved patient care, but I wanted to do more,” she states. “Additional education is always a good thing. You never want to stop learning.”
Katie earned her Bachelor of Science and Associates in Applied Science degrees in Health Care Administration at the University of Phoenix. She received her Medical Assistant Diploma at Madison Area Technical College.
When talking about her goals at Globe, Katie stated, “I want to put out the best Medical Assistants in the community. I want to make sure our students know that I am here to guide them on being the best that they can be.”
She added, “I look forwards to getting to know the students and helping them achieve their goals in graduating with success.
Born and raised in Sparta, Wi, Katie moved to Madison with her now husband in 1997. Katie is known to be a giant Packer Fan and she experienced her first Packer game this season when they caught them play against Tampa Bay. Katie also enjoys camping or bowling with her two daughters, Alison and Natalie.
Dean of Faculty, Kim Sprecker shared her excitement to Katie joining the Globe team. “Katie’s experience in the Madison area as a medical assistant will be valuable to our students on multiple levels. I am excited to see the new heights our students will reach under her guidance and through her connections with the local medical community.”
