Globe University-Woodbury campus Massage Therapy Program Chair, Heather Simmer will host a free Massage Therapy 101 Workshop on campus on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The workshop is open to the public and is focused on basic hands-on massage therapy skills for the neck, scalp, and upper shoulders.
“I want to open this up to the public because I am passionate about the health and medical benefits of healing touch and stress reduction through massage therapy,” Simmer said. “I believe that everyone should have a basic knowledge of stress reduction and a basic education in health and wellness. In my opinion, one of the most positive ways we can contribute to the health of the planet.”
Simmer is a skilled wellness professional with more than a decade of experience in bodywork and education. She has worked as a massage therapist, massage therapy instructor, massage therapy program chair, as well as a teacher in Reiki massage.
