Globe University-Minneapolis Walks for Wishes

Recently, Globe University-Minneapolis faculty, students and staff joined hundreds of others for the Make-a-Wish foundation’s annual Walk for Wishes fundraiser. Lake Normandale Park in Bloomington was filled with participants who raised funds to support the organization’s mission: “We grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.”

Make-a-Wish is an organization that grants wishes to children who are dealing with life-threatening and serious illness. They work compassionately with families to give children who are suffering a chance to enjoy an experience that lets them escape from their illness for a short time. The Walk-for-Wishes event is a fundraiser where teams and individuals raise money to grant up to 70 wishes for local children.

The Globe University-Minneapolis team joined several other Globe campuses for this great event. The walk began with an inspiring welcome from the organization followed by a two-mile walk and 5K run. Christine Storms, dean of education, added, “The Make-a-Wish walk was a great event for Globe University and the Minneapolis Campus. We were able to help out a great cause with some wonderful co-workers.”

Globe-University-Minneapolis was thrilled to take part in this event and look forward to participating again.
