Flu season is right around the corner and many people choose to get a flu shot to avoid getting sick. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) says the single best way to protect against the flu is to get vaccinated each year.
Hennepin County will be offering three walk-in clinics to provide flu shots for those who do not have insurance, or their insurance does not currently cover immunizations. One of these clinics will be right here in Downtown Minneapolis. The details of the three clinics are:
- Bloomington Clinic: Bloomington Division of Health, 1900 W. Old Shakopee Road, Oct. 4 and 18, 3 to 5:30 p.m.
- Brooklyn Center Clinic: Hennepin County’s Brookdale Service Center, 6125 Shingle Creek Road, Oct. 25, 9 to 11 a.m.
- Downtown Minneapolis Clinic: Hennepin Health Services Building, 525 Portland Ave. S., Oct. 7, 8:30 to 11 a.m.
You do not need to make an appointment, as the clinics are strictly walk-in. Also, donations are encouraged, but not required. For more information, log on to Hennepin County’s website: http://www.hennepin.us/vaccines or call (612) 328-2884.
