The Minnesota School of Business Softball Team went 6-2 en route to a second-place finish in the Fargo-Moorhead Classic Tournament.

The Minnesota School of Business men’s slowpitch softball team came away with second-place finish in the highly competitive Fargo-Moorhead Class Tournament. The team posted a 6-2 record, losing in the championship game. The team won four straight on Sunday to advance to the final after winning two out of three on the first day of the tournament.

In the quarterfinals, MSB had to overcome a three-run deficit to Captain T’s Sports Gallery in the 7th inning and won a nail-biter 10-9. In the semifinals, MSB rallied from behind once again, beating Overhead Door of Aberdeen, South Dakota 15-14. Although the team fell in the championship to Edward Jones, MSB finished 6-2 in the two-day tournament and improved to 13-4 overall.

“We got behind every game but kept coming back to get wins,” says team captain David Lawson. “This was a fun weekend and we’re glad to finish runner-up.”

The team continues to battle for a league championship and also plans to play in the state softball tournament in August.
