The Minnesota School of Business in Moorhead celebrated it’s 2012 ‘Community Service Day’ project with a pizza party for all staff, students, and faculty. Representatives of the Fargo Marathon purchased the pizza as a thank you for all the volunteer efforts over the course of the week.

“Your involvement made our event successful and we want everyone of you to know that,” Race Director Mark Knutson said to everyone in attendance. “Thanks so much for all of your efforts.”

Tom Donaldson, a representative of the American Cancer Society DetermiNation team, was also in attendance. Students in the interpersonal communication class held a fundraiser on campus to raise money for this group. Student Sarah Lindner presented the check for $392 to the American Cancer Society at the event.

“Thank you so much for supporting our cause and all of your volunteering,” Donaldson said. “We really appreciate it.”

As an added bonus, the Fargo Marathon matched the donation from Minnesota School of Business, for a total of $784.

“We have a lot to celebrate and be excited about,” said paralegal program chair Stacey Tronson. “Many people from the campus played important roles in the success of this event and recognizing them is important.”

Knutson also awarded the campus a commemorative Fargo Marathon plaque for its involvement as well.
