Moorhead Campus Director Celebrates 15 Years With GEN

Minnesota School of Business-Moorhead Campus Director Erik Engberg has done a little bit of everything since joining the Globe Education Network in 1996. He started in education as an Instructor for the Multimedia program. After three years, he was made Multimedia coordinator for the Brooklyn Center campus. After three more years, he made the leap from teaching to administration as the Academic Coordinator and then Evening School Director for the Brooklyn Center campus. In 2004, he helped open the St. Cloud campus as their Dean of Students. After four years, he was given the opportunity to help open another campus, this time as the Campus Director for Moorhead.

“When I started, I really struggled as a teacher ,” Engberg says. “But in two years, my students evaluations went from one of the lowest on campus to one of the highest.”

Initially Engberg thought that a Campus Director position wasn’t even a remote possibility for him. “I was awe-struck by that job and didn’t really have the background for it,” he adds. “I learned a ton about operations after serving as Dean of Students for the Saint Cloud campus and then I felt prepared for it.”

Through the many years and many titles, Erik’s passion is still for the students the school serves, and to see the positive changes in students’ lives at each graduation.
