MSB-Moorhead Holds First Business Social On Campus

Director of Career Services Kurtis Karn chats with David Struck from the Bank of Hawley during the MSB-Moorhead Business Social.

In an effort to increase awareness in the community, staff and faculty at the Minnesota School of Business in Moorhead held the first ever ‘Business Social’ on campus in conjunction with the Moorhead Business Association. Almost 50 business professionals from the community attended the event, which featured drinks and appetizers catered in from Speak Easy. Also in attendance were Moorhead City Council members Mike Hulett, Steve Gehrtz, and Mark Hintermeyer along with City Manager Mike Redlinger. Local city leaders enjoyed the opportunity to meet with business owners and managers in a relaxed atmosphere.

“It’s great for us to meet with Moorhead business leaders away from board rooms and other city meetings,” City Manager Mike Redlinger said. “This is really a great event.”

Moorhead Business Association Executive Director Chuck Chadwick helped to promote the event as well, giving members of organization an opportunity to network.

This was also an opportunity for members of the staff and faculty to tell all attendees about the programs offered at the campus. For many, it was their first time visiting MSB-Moorhead.

“It was great for us to have so many local leaders together on campus,” said Campus Director, Erik Engberg. “This was definitely one of the best events we’ve ever hosted here.”

Campus staff members plan to hold similar events in the future.
