Globe University-Online is proud to introduce our 5 newest faculty members! Whether they are completely new to the online teaching environment or seasoned veterans, we are excited to have them on our team assisting students and creating thought-provoking, interesting courses!
Check out their abbreviated bios below for a glimpse into their personal and professional lives as Globe-Online instructors!
Instructor of: Career Capstone
About LaCora: She is currently working double duty as both a Career Service Advisor and an online instructor. This is LaCora’s first time teaching online, but she is excited and ready to take on the new challenge!
Outside of work, LaCora spends time serving others by volunteering as a career and youth counselor for organizations like AmeriCorp. She also enjoys salsa dancing, rock climbing, and cheering on the Boston Celtics!
Instructor of: Paralegal Courses
About Renae: She comes to the Online campus with a bevy of legal knowledge. Renae has been working in the legal field for 16 years! Upon graduating from law school in 1997, Renae spent most of her legal career working criminal defense cases and other court appointed abuse and neglect cases. Renae currently owns and operates her own law firm while also actively volunteering on the board of directors for a nonprofit organization known as Restore. Restore works to provide mediation between victims (of crimes) and offenders in a peaceful manner.
When Renae is not working, she keeps busy maintaining her family’s “zoo” of Shih Tzu dogs. Having six dogs, two children and a husband will keep anyone more than occupied! Unfortunately (or fortunately), both of Renae’s children have begun arguing their points in an analytical manner. This, she says, “scares me at times.”
Instructor of: Internet Marketing
About Derek: He is one of our newest faculty members and has helped us design and create our new Internet Marketing degree program. Derek has had a lifelong passion for marketing and enjoys the delicate balance of science and art behind it.
Derek doesn’t have much time for hobbies outside of work, but manages to fit in some volunteer work at a nonprofit organization called SCORE. He is also a season ticket holder of the Milwaukee Brewers and enjoys all sorts of music from jazz to hip-hop, although he claims to have no discernible talent in this area.
Instructor of: Agricultural Business Courses
About Eric: He joins the Online team with a host of experience in agricultural business! He has worked in nearly every facet of the business from artificial cattle insemination to a Japanese agricultural trading company. Having the opportunity to travel around the world has made Eric into a dedicated professional and a great source of agricultural information.
When Eric is not busy teaching or grading, he enjoys spending time with his children and going for early morning 5 a.m. runs. Eric is also fluent in the Spanish language as his wife is originally from Mexico. They even speak it as a first language in their home!
Instructor of: Career Capstone
About Lori: Last, but not least we have Lori. Lori is a vet when it comes to anything human resources (HR) related. Working in the HR industry for 10 years has allowed Lori the experience and knowledge it takes to be an effective instructor. Lori has even previously worked in the Online division as a Career Service Advisor.
As a mother of a toddler, Lori’s hobbies outside of work include chasing her son and retired racing dog, a Greyhound, around the house and yard. When she’s not busy chasing one of those two, Lori says her spare time is spent mostly sleeping, as those quiet times seem to be few and far between.
