Alumni Update: Where Are They Now?

Globe University OnlineAs some of you may have noticed, each month on the blog we feature a service or applied learning story featuring one of our students giving back in their community. In an effort to share more of our students’ stories, we have decided to begin a “Where Are They Now?” blog series featuring real Online alumni, and what they have been up to since graduation.

To kick things off, we caught up with Globe University grad, JeriLyn Lee.

JeriLyn’s path to becoming a student at Globe University:

After graduating high school in 2009 I ended up going to school at UW-River Falls with an undecided major. It wasn’t until I was home during Spring Break of 2010 when I realized what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I moved home and realized that an on-site campus wasn’t for me. So, after looking up information about online schools I called Globe University and talked with an admissions representative and she helped me get accepted into Globe University-Online.”

When did you graduate and what have you been up to since then?

“I graduated in December 2012 with a Sales & Marketing associate degree! Since graduation I was able to get an internship with a company in Colorado and have since actually been added on as an employee doing their social media and helping with sales! I enjoy what I do and I’m happy that I can work in a career where I put my education to use!”

In her spare time:

“I enjoy spending my free time hiking, going to concerts and camping. Going to school online also taught me that you need to make time for yourself and seize each day like it’s your last! You never know when an opportunity can come along and be the best thing since sliced bread to change your life!”

Do you have any advice for students nearing graduation or currently in the marketing program?

“If I can give anyone advice about a Sales & Marketing degree, or any degree for that matter, it’s that you need to find your niche. What inspires you? What do you love doing? What makes you proud of yourself? For me it was creating advertisements, researching target markets, and knowing that it takes more than persuasion to sell a product!”
