Searching for job opportunities online can be overwhelming and stressful if you don’t know where to start. Have no fear, the Online Career Services Team is here to help! There are several tips and tricks to navigating these sites, the first being which sites to use. Below, you will find our top 4 online job seeking resources, and why we like them.
1. Globe Education Network’s online job boards- These sites are exclusively for GEN students and graduates, and are an excellent place to start your job search. By accessing the site, you can upload your resume to be viewed by potential employers, and browse hundreds of opportunities with the click of a mouse. To access the GU/MSB job board, click here.
2. State/Federal specific job banks- Most states have job banks that are free to access. See the states with their corresponding URL’s below.
Federal jobs- http://usajobs.gov
3. www.linkup.com- LinkUp is a job search engine that pulls opportunities exclusively from company websites.
4. www.indeed.com- Indeed is a job search engine that pulls opportunities from company websites, online job boards, and newspaper ads.
Whenever possible, apply to positions directly through the company’s website, and not through the search engine that you came across the opportunity on. Also, on many of these sites you can subscribe to receive notifications of new job postings and opportunities.
