Over 60 Online Staff and Faculty members participated in Globe Education Network’s annual Community Service Day. Community Service Day was May 20th from 9 am – 1 pm and the focus of this event was giving back to our local schools and parks. The sixty participants were divided into teams and helped 8 local schools and the Woodlake Nature Center with “whatever” they needed. Many staff assisted in setting up a Multi-Cultural Fair at a local elementary school, moving books at the Richfield Middle School and picking up garbage in the Nature Center.
There were also numerous faculty members that live outside of the Twin Cities metro area that took the opportunity to give back to their communities. One instructor, Lacey Finley, took the opportunity to volunteer in a local school. The staff and faculty had a great time and are looking forward to the next event later this Summer.
