Ferguson’s Career Guidance Center

The GEN-Online library has recently purchased a new career database called Ferguson’s Career Guidance Center.  This database includes several resources to assist you with your job search, and is a great place to go for information on resumes, cover letters, company research, job hunting and more.  Some additional items include:

  • Job and Industry Profiles: nearly 3,400 jobs and 94 industries, broken down into 16 Career Clusters created by the Department of Education
  • Job-Hunting and Workplace Skills: guidance on getting a job and keeping it-establishing a career path, honing interview skills, writing résumés, and more
  • Career and Industry Resources: more than 55,000 searchable resource entries, divided into convenient categories on fellowships, organizations, internships, scholarships, and awards
  • Career Interest Assessment: a feature that helps users identify their interest areas and related jobs.

To access Ferguson’s Career Guidance Center, click here to visit the online library and click on “resources” at the top left hand side of the page.  From there, you can browse all of GEN’s databases alphabetically.  Enjoy!
