As a student with Globe University & Minnesota School of Business-Online you have a vast amount of resources available to help you navigate your college career! Are you utilizing these resources? Or more importantly do you know what resources are offered to you as a student? The academic team took some time to share some of their favorite resources to help you through you college journey.
Associate dean of students, Jackie Pries shares “Instructor office hours are really under utilized. The instructors know best what they are looking for when grading, so they are some of the best people to look to for clarification and assistance.”
Lexi Factor, academic advisor, has two favorite resources. Smarthinking is an online-based tutor that offers help in many different subjects. Smarththinking can be found on the bottom left of each course menu, it is open 24 hours a day, and offers drop in tutoring, scheduled tutoring and a writing center to submit to for critiques and edits.
Also the LibraryConnect is a wonderful resource. It is also available 24 hours a day. You can chat with a librarian and offers an APA Citation guide for any citation questions you may have.
Did you know if you are near one of our campuses, even as an online student, you are able to drop in for an in-person tutoring session? Reach out to a campus near you to see what is available and schedule a time to visit a tutor. If you are not near a campus reach out to your academic advisor to get in contact with an online student tutor.
Program chairs are academic advisor, Krista Lundberg’s favorite resource. Program chairs are experts in their field and are able to help you out with your questions. They have a passion for their fields. Don’t forget to reach out to them if you are needing extra assistance!
If you ever have a concern or question about your classes we always urge you to reach out to your academic team. We are here for you and want you to succeed as a student!
