Laura Lee is the Accounting Program Chair for the online division and is sharing great information about why the accounting program is appealing to so many students.
As each of us have been impacted by the economic state of our country we must take the time to evaluate where we are going and how we will get there. Whether you are working to obtain a diploma, Associates degree, Bachelors degree or a Masters degree you know the importance education plays in you reaching your goals. Within the Accounting arena you have the opportunity to become an accounting clerk, tax auditor, internal auditor, forensic accountant, or management accountant, the choice is yours.
Now the question is will there be a job for the accounting position I choose? Per the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistic’s the job growth for some jobs will be in higher demand than others. Accountants, auditors, bookkeepers, and auditing clerks are on that list. In additional to the Labor Statistics, the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) annual Job Outlook survey showed 62 percent of the employer’s surveyed plan to hire accounting majors this year. When you pursue a degree in the accounting arena you have the opportunity to position yourself in a field that appears to be in need of individuals with an accounting degree.
