February’s Paralegal Rock Star student – Tammy Dallas

The Rock Star paralegal student on the month for February is Tammy Dallas. She was nominated by Michelle Quist, Paralegal Program chair at Broadview University’s West Jordan campus. Michelle nominated her because of her work ethic. She appreciates that Tammy completes all of her work early and asks very analytical questions.

Tammy’s desire to be a paralegal came from her experience with her divorce. Through the experience, she wanted to know more about the legal system. She did her own research to understand what the attorneys and judges were saying. Her family law attorney was the first one to tell her that she would make a great paralegal. “I would hire Tammy in a heartbeat as a paralegal because she never gives up,” stated Michelle.

Tammy has not had an easy life. She overcame abuse and last year, she had heart attack and missed only one week. “Even after her heart attack she completed all of her work at a faster, and at a more impressive level than students that had no major life altering events in their lives,” says Michelle.

Tammy will be graduating soon and is looking forward to her first job as a paralegal. We look forward to hearing more about how she is using her education to help others who might find themselves in the same situation she was in years ago.
