Globe University Faculty Member Named Veterinary Technician of the Year by North Dakota Veterinary Technician Association

MOORHEAD, Minn. (Oct. 13, 2014) – Gail Yliniemi-White, full-time instructor in the veterinary technology program at Globe University-Moorhead, has been awarded the Veterinary Technician of the Year by the North Dakota Veterinary Technician Association (NDVTA).

“We are so proud of Gail for receiving this honor,” says John Andrick, campus director for Globe University-Moorhead. “We’re lucky to have faculty members like Gail who are so dedicated to their field.”

Yliniemi-White graduated from North Dakota State University’s veterinary technology program, and after years of working in small animal practices, moved on to the North Dakota Veterinary Diagnostic Lab in the clinical pathology and necropsy lab areas before settling into her current role as a vet tech instructor at Globe University, where she has taught for six years.

Yliniemi-White is a member of the NDVTA and the Minnesota Veterinary Technician Association. Fellow veterinary technicians of North Dakota nominated and voted for Yliniemi-White, and she was presented with the Veterinary Technician of the Year award at the NDVTA’s annual continuing education seminar in Bismarck, N.D.

“It’s quite the honor just to be nominated, and then to actually receive the award was unbelievable,” says Yliniemi-White. “It’s very special to be recognized by your fellow technicians for the work you do and your dedication to this field.”
