Globe University Health Fitness Specialist Program Chair to Speak at National Industry Conference

MINNEAPOLIS (Sept. 11, 2014) – Meredith Butulis, health fitness specialist program chair for Globe University, has been selected to speak at Empower! Minneapolis, a national continuing education conference for fitness professionals featuring workshops, lectures and master classes.

“I’m so excited to have this opportunity,” says Butulis. “Empower! is a huge fitness conference held all over the U.S., and I am honored to be chosen as a presenter this year.”

Butulis will present a workshop titled “Fitness Injuries Be Gone!” on Friday, Sept. 12, from 3:30 – 5:15 p.m. The session will cover common injuries that occur in the fitness setting, as well as how to help prevent them. Butulis has worked in the fitness industry since 1998 as a professional dancer and choreographer, personal trainer, fitness manager, group fitness instructor, Pilates instructor and physical therapist. In addition to her role as health fitness specialist chair for Globe University’s online program, Butulis currently works as an outpatient sports and orthopedic physical therapist and Life Time Academy instructor.

“We’re lucky to have such talented faculty like Meredith,” says Chris Schmitz, campus director for Globe University’s online division. “This is a great chance for her to share her expertise with a larger audience.”

Empower! Minneapolis takes place Sept. 11-14, 2014, at Lifetime Fitness in St. Louis Park, Minn.
