Globe University Massage Therapy Students Offer Relief to Those Living with Cancer

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (July 9, 2015) – Extensive studies have been done expounding on the benefits of massage therapy for cancer patients, and we now know that massage is essential to treating effects of cancer including fatigue, nausea, pain, depression and anxiety. Tracy Walton is on the frontline of this research, and for the second consecutive year, Globe University is offering Tracy Walton’s Oncology Training for massage therapy students. This is an intense workshop culminating in a clinic experience on Sunday, July 12 at 1 p.m., during which two dozen massage therapy students from Minnesota and Wisconsin will invite members of the community who are actively receiving cancer treatments to experience an effective massage and better educate them on the importance of massage therapy. This treatment is a growing trend, and students will come away with knowledge and ways to implement it into their practice.
