GREEN BAY, Wis. (April 18, 2014) – Globe University congratulates Laura Nelson, paralegal program chair for the Green Bay campus, on being elected to the Village of Suamico Board of Trustees.
“I wanted to step in because I’m an ordinary citizen,” says Nelson on why she decided to run for the Board. “I want to bring the community back into the government process.”
The Board of Trustees is made up of seven members and meets twice per month to discuss property, finance and other village issues. Nelson will hold the position for a three-year term and will remain in her role as program chair at Globe University. Nelson is also an attorney with her own private practice.
“At Globe University we know the value staff and faculty members, with the real-world experience bring to our students, said Jeryl Fleck, campus director at Globe University-Green Bay. “Laura’s experience as an attorney and her new role on the board are a great example of this.”
A swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected board members will be held Monday, April 21, 2014, at 7 p.m. at the Village Hall.
