Freezin’ for a Reason: Bosses Tossed, Teams complete Polar Plunge for Special Olympics.

Globe University-Wausau students, staff, and faculty rallied to support Special Olympics by participating in this year’s Polar Plunge.  The challenge went out to all on campus to complete Penny Wars, Bake Sale, and Valentine’s Day Events to Toss the Bosses from campus and support teams jumping at this year’s Polar Plunge held at Sunnyvale Park in Wausau.

The “Globesicles” a.k.a. campus leadership and staff were tossed after the campus raised $618.55  for Special Olympics.

“Team Globe” comprised of Dhimitraq Duni– GU-Wausau’s Math Instructor and his students and families–  raised $588 dollars.

Team Peanut raised over $600.00 through Jessika Carlson’s Service Learning Project.  Jessika, a first-quarter student in the Medical Assisting Program, prepared hundreds of baked goods.  She put together a team, promoted awareness for Special Olympics and garnered financial support for the cause.  Through her hard work, she also provided opportunity for all of GU-Wausau to rally for Special Olympics through the support of her team.
