GU-Wausau’s Medical Assisting students isolate DNA, expand knowledge of DNA related topics.

Kerry Miller-Mouzon ‘s  Spring MA212
Microbiology/Urinalysis Class at Globe University Wausau had the opportunity to
isolate DNA in Monday’s class.  The students, donned in their appropriate PPE, followed the step-by-step instructions and actually isolated each-other’s DNA.  The experiment objectives led to an in-depth discussion about genetic testing, forensic evidence, stem cell research and other DNA related topics.  One student couldn’t wait to go home and tell her family, “It was so cool today in class…I actually isolated DNA.”
