Small Business Management Class Helps Aspiring Entrepreneur

Globe graduate hears new perspectives from students

Globe University-Minneapolis graduate, Wesley Kaake, always dreamt of starting his own doughnut shop in downtown Minneapolis. As he moved through the business planning process, business instructor Mike Overline asked Kaake to share his experiences with the Small Business Management class at Globe.

Kaake shared his planning process experience and sought students’ feedback on two areas of his business plan. In particular, Kaake needed help researching two potential downtown Minneapolis locations and ideas for additional menu items.

After the presentation, the students brainstormed ideas and conducted research. They compiled their research and presented their suggestions to Kaake. They also completed a reflection of their project.

“Allowing the students to work with Wesley was a great opportunity to apply their learning to something relatable,” Overline said. “Projects like this inspire them to work toward their dreams and give them the chance to see those dreams are within reach.”
