Globe University Sioux Falls is going red in support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women and American Heart Month- South Dakota. February is a big month that has a lot of red events. However these events are not Valentine’s Day, they are events to support women and raise awareness of their risks for heart disease.
Many people may not be aware of how important living heart healthy is. In fact heart disease is the number one killer of women. As a campus, Globe University Sioux Falls is raising awareness and showing support in several ways. This week marks the beginning of the best “red” office contest. Each individual on campus can choose their own way to decorate their office area. This awareness is also becoming a friendly competition; there are red dresses, Go Red for women signs, offices completely covered in red, and many other red variations.
The competition doesn’t stop there. With Friday February 3rd being National Wear Red Day, employees are challenged to come up with their best red outfit. A little bird on campus said there may be red tights making an appearance. With everyone dressed in their red best, Globe University Sioux Falls will be posing for a photo to help show others their support of the Go Red for Women movement.
This is just the beginning of the different ways Globe University Sioux Falls is supporting the Go Red for Women movement. Members of campus have been busy packing gift cards for the Go Red luncheon. More events will be taking place on campus throughout the month with the main event, the Go Red luncheon, which is February 23 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.
