Globe University-Sioux Falls Student of the Quarter: Alex Elmore, Veterinary Technology

Globe University-Sioux Falls is pleased to announce Alex Elmore, Veterinary Technology student, as our Fall Student of the Quarter! This honor comes with a reserved parking spot at the front of the building and recognition on the bulletin board in the student lounge.

Alex is a well-deserved recipient of Student of the Quarter. He always displays a positive attitude while on campus with his instructors and fellow students. Alex is a hard worker, often volunteering to do extra work with kennel duty and other projects within his program.

Alex is heavily involved in SCNAVTA, the Student Chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians of America. He participates in fundraising for the organization and is proud of the group’s achievements.

Here is what Alex had to say about this honor:

Fall Student of the Quarter, Alex Elmore, Veterinary Technology.

Fall Student of the Quarter, Alex Elmore, Veterinary Technology.

I moved to Sioux Falls a year and a half ago to attend college. I am a 19-year old vet tech student and the youngest of three children. I have four dogs, a 35-pound Flemish Giant, and a fish. I really enjoy having and helping out animals. In my spare time I enjoy watching movies and TV, hanging out with friends, playing with my pets, and having an all-around good time. I enjoy jokes, having a good laugh, and making others laugh.

I chose Globe University because I heard good things about the veterinary technology program and that they had an excellent job placement. I toured many other campuses before I found out about Globe, but I chose Globe because it suited me best. The veterinary technology program is really great because of the hands-on learning that we experience here. The vet tech program has improved many different aspects of my life; I have better communication skills, an increased knowledge about my program and career field, and I am not as shy as I used to be!

I have always wanted to work with animals since I was a kid. I have always had animals around me growing up. I really enjoy being able to help animals, because it gives me a great feeling to see improvements in their health and know that I assisted in making them feel better.

I am involved in SCNAVTA here at Globe. I enjoy all of the fundraisers and events that we do to help out in our community. Being in SCNAVTA has helped me to make friends and has helped me to become more involved at Globe.

I am looking forward to being able to finish up my time at Globe University in the next two quarters and being able to do a career that I enjoy every day.

Congratulations, Alex! Enjoy your reserved parking space!
