Midterm week at Globe University Sioux Falls has proven to be full of excitement. Although everyone on campus is busy with midterms, comps, papers and preparing for a visit from the in-laws, the campus should be very proud.
Tuesday May 8th the Helpline Center in Sioux Falls had their annual Spirit of Volunteerism Awards. This event was located at the Sioux Falls Convention Center and thanks to all the work, support, and volunteering, Globe University was nominated. The campus was nominated by the American Heart Association for the Corporate Humanitarian Award. Although the Globe University Sioux Falls did not win, it was an honor to be nominated and recognized at this event. Everyone at this campus should be very proud of all their efforts to help end heart disease in South Dakota.
The American Heart Association is not the only organization in Sioux Falls that GU has a working relationship with. We are also proud supporters of Active Generations and DayBreak. This week marks Daisies for DayBreak week. Students have put in a great deal of effort to help support this fundraiser and as a campus we donated to this great cause and also helped to hand out daisies at DayBreak.
Although week six has been very busy on the classroom side of life, there has been a lot of great happens on campus and in our community. Congratulations to all those who were honored at the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards, with over 550 guests in attendance Sioux Falls is truly a great place to call home.
