Walk A Mile and Raise Awareness

One-hundred five. This number may not mean a lot to some of you. However 105 is the number of rapes reported in 2011 in Sioux Falls. 1,289 cases of domestic assault were reported last year. Both of these numbers only account for those victims that came forward. The Compass Center is dedicated to breaking the cycle of domestic and sexual violence through victim/survivor services, batterer intervention programs, education, outreach and prevention located in Sioux Falls.

Globe University Sioux Falls is joining the cause to help break the cycle of domestic and sexual violence by hosting Walk a Mile in Her Shoes: The International Men’s March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault, and Gender Violence.

On May 19th, join our campus as we raise funds to help break the cycle. Men and women are all encouraged to take part in this walk. Registration is $10 per person. Individuals may register with a team. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Compass Center.
Registration will begin at 11:00am May 19th with the Walk beginning at 11:30am. Recognition will be given to: Most money raised as a team, most money raised as an individual, and best shoes worn.

To preregister or receive more information please contact: Carly Zebell, Student Services Coordinator, at 605.977.0705 or czebell@globeuniversity.edu.
