It takes a great deal of work and preparation to pass competencies, tests and classes. Globe University campus has been experiencing similar preparation over the last few months with the visit of our accrediting body, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. ACICS is recognized nationally by the Department of Education and provides accreditation to private postsecondary institutions.
According to the ACICS website, “accreditation is a voluntary activity initiated by the institution that requires a rigorous self-evaluation and an independent, objective appraisal of the overall educational quality by peers. Accreditation emphasizes quality assurance and a commitment to continuous quality enhancement.” The Globe University Sioux Falls campus was recently visited by the ACICS team that consisted of roughly ten individuals that are considered experts in their field. The team visited with students, faculty, and staff to get a better understanding of our campus. They also conducted a program audit of all the programs offered at GU-SF.
After several days, lots of conversations, file audits, and classroom visits, we are happy to report as a campus that we received zero citations. This is a great accomplishment which enhances our goal in providing great educational opportunities. The ACICS team was impressed with the energy and passion of everyone at our campus from the students to the staff.
